Ztylus Z-Grip Mini Smartphone Grip

Today I wanted to show you the Ztylus Z-Grip Mini Smartphone Grip. The Z-Grip is a clamp you can use to hold your smartphone to stabilize it for video and photos. The Z-Grip has a 1/4″-0 mount on the bottom so it can be attached to a tripod or other photography gear that includes a 1/4 20 stud. The clamp had two padded jaws to hold your smartphone. The clamp is spring loaded and has a tension screw on the front to secure the jaws. The Z-Grip has a cold shoe mount on the top. This is perfect to mounting the Rode Video Micro on top. Simply slide the cold shoe plate on the Video Micro into the slot and tighten the screw on the microphone.

I bought my Z-Grip on Amazon for $9.95.

For $10, this clamp looks pretty impressive. In a previous article I ended up recommending a similar clamp on eBay. That clamp also cost $9.95 but ships from China. I was unable to find a US seller. In photos the Ztylus looks identical except on is branded with a Z logo on the thumb screw. I suspect Ztylus is just rebranding this product. Given that the Ztylus is the same price and ships from Amazon, there is no reason to order the chinese models. I also found that there are some US eBay sellers offering the Ztylus.

So far I am impressed with the product. I will compare the Ztylus with the ones I ordered from China when they finally arrive.
