Anker 3.3ft Nylon USB-C to Lightning Cable

I bought the new Anker 3.3ft Nylon USB-C to Lightning Cable. You can pick this up on Amazon for $17.

I recently adopted the USB-C life when I bought a new MacBook Pro at the end of 2019. Rather than go the dock or dongle route, I’ve decided new cables are a better solution. I need to be able to connect my iPhone X to my MacBook Pro to be able to charge my iPhone and sync photos and video from my iPhone.

The Anker 3.3ft Nylon USB-C to Lightning Cable is 3.3ft long, or about 1m. I use a number of Anker cables and charging products. The cables are Apple MFI certified so they are compatible with iPhones, iPads, and other Apple accessories that use Apple’s lighting port. Anker offers a lifetime warranty on the cable.

The cable is available in black and red. I choose the the black to better match my space grey MacBook Pro. I’ve never been a fan of Apple’s white cables.

Apple sells a their 1m USB-C to Lightning Cable for $19, so this Anker cable is only a couple dollars cheaper but you have a choice of black or red and the Anker cable is made out of this braided nylon, so it looks nicer and I’m hoping is more durable than Apple’s cables.

I’ll add an update here after I have used the cable for a while about how well it holds up.

A Few Points About Anker

There are a few things about Anker I want to make you aware of. First, they frequently update or upgrade their products, and earlier models are often still listed for sale. Most often they are a little cheaper than the newest version, but not always. Second, these products often go on sale on Amazon, so keep you eye on products you are interested in. Finally, Anker lists their products on Amazon with incredibly long names or titles. I think they do this to help position their products in the top of search results on Amazon and elsewhere. I’d makes it a little hard to understand what product you are looking at sometimes.
