I recently picked up a FotodioX C-700RSV 18″ FlapJack LED Bi-Color Edge Light . I bought it from B&H for $270 on a Deal Zone special. The list price for this light is $550 but it’s currently listed for $310.

I’m going to use this as a overhead light for making my YouTube videos. I’m a casual YouTuber, I make unboxing videos and share information about tech related things that catch my interest and that I think might help our others. I’m going to use this FotoDiox light to replace the different household and shop Daylight LED lights I am currently using to light my videos.
My goal is to use FotodioX as a source of soft light. I want to eliminate the shadows, reflections, and hot spots in my videos. The normal way to do this is to use a soft box. But soft boxes are big and bulky and I want something that takes up less space.

FotodioX C-700RSV FlapJack is a Bi Color LED Edge Light. Its round and 18″ inches across. It’s bi-color meaning it can produce both Daylight and Tungsten colored light. Daylight colored light is the same color as the sun. Its a whiter light. Lighting. color is measured in temperature, in degrees kelvin. This light can generate between 3200 to 5600K color. The light is an edge lit LED light, meaning the LED lights are lighted around the ring of the light and pointed in rather than directly out. The LEDs light a diffusion material in the center created a soft light.
