10Ft TRRS to TRRS Extension Cable for Rode VideoMicro

I have a Rode Video Micro shotgun microphone which is a great little microphone for use with a smartphone like the iPhone. Ideally this microphone will sound best when you are not more than 3 to 6ft away from the front end of the microphone. One way to get closer to the microphone is to mount it to a boom pole instead of on top of your phone or camera.

I picked up a 2 Pack of Cable Matters 10ft 3.5mm TRRS extension cables on Amazon. They cost $12 at the time I bought them. See below for the current price.

I haven’t use this cable yet but when I do, I’ll post an update here. If you don’t see an update, leave a reply below and ask.

Note that you can’t use these with the Rode directly. You’ll need another cable and possible an adapter for your iPhone or Android phone. These cables are just TRRS extension cables for your phone.
To use these calbes with your Rode Video Micro, you’ll need Rode SC7 TRS to TRRS cable or similar cable. You’ll plug the TRS(black) end of the SC7 into your Rode. Plug the TRRS (gray) end of the SC7 into the Cable Matters extension cable. If your phone has a headphone jack, plug the end of the Cable Matters cable into the phone. If you have an iPhone without a headphone jack you’ll need Apple’s 3.5 mm TRRS to lightning adapter. If your Android phone only has a USB-C port you’ll need a 3,5mm TRRS to USB-C adapter.
